POLYSCAN ("we," "us," "our," or "the Software") is a command-line trading terminal for Polymarket prediction markets. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use POLYSCAN.
IMPORTANT: POLYSCAN is designed as a privacy-first, local-only application. We do not operate servers that collect your data. Your information stays on your machine.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
POLYSCAN does NOT collect, store, or transmit:
- Personal Information - Name, email, phone number, address
- Usage Analytics - How you use the software, features accessed, frequency
- Trading Data - Your trades, positions, portfolio, profits, or losses
- Financial Information - Wallet balances, transaction amounts
- Device Information - IP address, hardware specs, operating system
- Location Data - Geographic location or timezone
- Behavioral Data - Trading patterns, preferences, habits
- Cookies or Trackers - We use no tracking technologies
We do not use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or any third-party analytics.
3. Local Data Storage
POLYSCAN stores data locally on YOUR machine only:
3.1 Configuration Files (~/.polyscan/)
- User preferences and settings
- API credentials (encrypted)
- Wallet configuration
- Alert rules and trading strategies
3.2 Private Key Storage (Optional)
- Encrypted with AES-256
- Password-protected by you
- Never transmitted anywhere
- Stored locally only
3.3 Trading History
- Local SQLite database
- Your trade history for your reference
- Never sent to our servers
- Delete anytime by removing the file
3.4 Cache Files
- Temporary market data cache
- Improves performance
- No personal information
- Auto-clears periodically
4. Third-Party Connections
POLYSCAN connects to external services to function:
4.1 Polymarket API
- Purpose: Fetch markets, execute trades
- Data Shared: API keys, wallet address, trade instructions

4.2 Polygon Network (Blockchain)
- Purpose: Submit transactions, query data
- Data Shared: Transaction data, wallet addresses
- Note: Blockchain transactions are public and permanent
4.3 RPC Providers
- Purpose: Blockchain communication
- Data Shared: Transaction requests
- Note: Provider privacy policies apply
We have no control over third-party data practices. Review their policies.
5. Data Security
5.1 Encryption
- AES-256 encryption for private keys
- PBKDF2 key derivation
- Secure password hashing
5.2 Local Protection
- Restricted file permissions (600)
- Configuration files protected
- No plaintext sensitive data
5.3 Network Security
- All API calls use HTTPS/TLS
- Certificate validation enabled
- No unencrypted transmissions
5.4 Recommendations
- Use strong, unique passwords
- Consider hardware wallets (Ledger, Trezor)
- Enable full disk encryption
- Keep software updated
6. Your Rights and Controls
You have complete control over your data:
- View Data: Check ~/.polyscan/ directory anytime
- Delete Data: Remove ~/.polyscan/ folder to delete everything
- Export Data: Copy your files as needed
- Disable Features: Turn off any optional connections
No account required. No data to request from us. You control everything.
7. Children's Privacy
POLYSCAN is not intended for users under 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. Prediction market trading may be restricted by age in your jurisdiction.
8. International Users
POLYSCAN operates locally on your machine. No data crosses borders through our servers because we don't have servers collecting your data. Third-party services (Polymarket, Polygon) may have their own international data policies.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. Changes will be noted in the software release notes and updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
10. Open Source
POLYSCAN is open-source software. You can:
- Audit the code yourself
- Verify no data collection exists
- Fork and modify as needed
- Contribute improvements
